Il festival
Istituito nel 1975 il Festival si è contraddistinto, sin dalla sua nascita, per la riscoperta di titoli operistici e pagine musicali rare o sottovalutate, per la cura delle versioni integrali e delle edizioni critiche e per la fedeltà agli intenti dei compositori. Le produzioni del Festival distinguono per l’autenticità dei testi (spesso rappresentati in versione integrale) e il rispetto dei tipi vocali, fedeli agli spartiti e alle interpretazioni originali. Dal 1975 sono state quasi 200 le opere presentate al Festival della Valle d’Itria.
The Festival
Established in 1975, the Festival has stood out, since its inception, for the rediscovery of rare or undervalued operatic titles and musical pages, for the care of complete versions and critical editions and for its fidelity to the composers’ intentions. The Festival’s productions stand out for the authenticity of the texts (often represented in full) and the respect for the vocal types, faithful to the scores and original interpretations. Since 1975, almost 200 works have been presented at the Valle d’Itria Festival.
