Medimex Off is a festival within a festival and involves the entire city of Bari in presentations, showcases, concerts and DJ sets.

 

On Friday and Saturday a lot of pubs and clubs will host music events promoted by the City of Bari’s Department for Education and Youth Policies Bari as part of Bonus Track. Bands and artists performing live are AcquaSuMarte, Stella Maguette, Faro Records Showcase, Monsterpussy, Metroklang Records Showcase, Moscaburro, Punti in Espansione, Unavèz, Roberta Di Lorenzo Duo with Roberta Di Lorenzo, and Giacomo Toni.

 

On Friday (at 9.00 pm) the Teatro Kismet OperA hosts “Cosa Volete Sentire” (broadcast live on Radio Popolare Network) live, with reading and presentation of the book edited for Minimum Fax by Chiara Baffa, with Simone Lenzi of Virginiana Miller, Rossano Lo Mele of Perturbazione and Maria Antonietta. This is followed by “Brescia Indizi Sonori live” with Omar Pedrini and many others.

 

On Saturday (at 8.00 pm) again at the Kismet, an evening dedicated to the world of  indies and ArciReal, in collaboration with Progetto Emilia Romagna Indies and T – Rumors. The evening includes the  Special Award to “Demo” for its 3000 episodes. Luca Valtorta, director of La Repubblica newspaper’s XL magazine, and Pierpaolo Capovilla of Teatro degli Orrori will open the proceedings by presenting the band’s new disc. At 9pm Ramzi Aburedwan and Ensemble Dal’Ouna perform live at the Auditorium Vallisa.

 

On Sunday (at 10.00 pm – tickets 10 euros) Gran Finale at Demodé Club in Modugno with the official presentation of “Cattivi Guagliuni", the new album by 99 Posse. A comeback with the band in great form, eagerly awaited by all their old and new fans.  

Ramzi Aburedwan and Ensemble Dal'Ouna - from the name of the typical Palestinian festive music - sing and play daily life in Palestine. Thanks to the force of music which transcends borders, the band express the hopes of a hospitable people who love to live, laugh and sing. Their repertoire reaches from Egypt to Andalusia via the traditional music of the Middle East. The band is infl uenced by classical and baroque music, and performs a mixture of oriental and western music with some jazz acents. Ramzi Aburedwan and Ensemble Dal'Ouna take us into their world, their music, their poetry and their traditions. They take us on a journey to the sound of typically Arab instruments like the bouzoki, the oud, and oriental percussion instruments, accompanied by the classical sounds of the violin and piano accordion. Their music may be instrumental, but is also accompanied by poetic songs telling of love, freedom and nature.

Ensemble Dall'Ouna is a story of meetings, of shared experiences, a sensitive link which unites across borders, a message of hope. Their music develops in a context where composing and playing music are creative acts of resistance to the daily oppression suff ered by the people of Palestine.

"Cattivi Guagliuni" is the title of 99 Posse’s comeback album after ten years, eagerly awaited by old and new fans alike.

They have always recounted Italy in a very direct strong direct way in words and music with nothing to hide.
