The second edition of the MEDIMEX, Fair of Mediterranean Music, will take place in Bari, from 29 Novembre to 2nd December, promoted by Puglia Sounds Apulia Regional Government’s programme for the development of the music industry. Medimex is the International music trade fair in Italy dedicated to the new scenes on the music market, to artistic and business contacts, to new music trends, to opportunities for the regional, Italian and international music markets to meet each other.
The second edition of Medimex starts on 29th November at Bari’s Petruzzelli Theatre with “Meraviglioso Modugno”, a show in which the biggest hits of the world-famous singer of “Nel blu dipinto di blu” will be performed by some of the stars of Italian music: Negramaro, Noemi, Pacifico, Brunori SaS & Dente, Alessandro Mannarino, Raiz & Radicanto, Erica Mou and Mama Marjas.
From 30th November to 2nd December, 8,000 sq. metres of exhibition space will host over 1,000 music professionals from 20 countries and the general public with a full programme of events:

6 rooms in the Medimex exhibition area will host over 50 events including conferences, presentations, face to face(s), workshops, Inside The Artist’s Workshop, meet the authors and keynotes:
Medimex will also host some international conferences: “The future of the music, the music of the future”, the prospects for Italian music between technological innovation and creativity in collaboration with FIMI; “Auto-production and self- publishing: definitive solution, safety anchor or commercial bubble?” (live on Rai Radio 3); “From Beat to Bit. Music’s digital future“, “Live music in Europe: comparing experiences, prospects and synergies” in collaboration with Assomusica, and “50 years of independent music in Italy“, including the results of the Mei – Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti vote on the artists who symbolise Italian indie music.

And the programme also includes Meet the Authors, Keynotes and Inside The Artist’s Workshop by music journalists Ernesto Assante and Gino Castaldo: “Meet the Authors” will host some of the most popular personalities of Italian music, who will talk about themselves, their music and their songs: Caterina Caselli, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Antonello Venditti and Mogol; “Keynotes” will be a discussion of music’s future with expert and enthusiast Claudio Trotta (founder of Barley Arts), Giampiero di Carlo (director of Rockol) and Luca De Gennaro (MTV representative); in “Inside The Artist’s Workshop“, some of the great personalities of Italian music reveal the secrets and the mysteries of their musical art: Nicola Piovani, Guido Harari, Max Pezzali and Congorock.
Medimex will also host four award ceremonies: the Medimex Best Italian Artist Award goes to Negramaro, the Medimex Best International Artist Award goes to Asaf Avidan and the Mei – Meeting of Independent Labels PIVI Awards for the Best Italian Independent Videoclips and PIMI Awards for Italian Independent Music.
