Puglia’s music industry is in continual expansion. The PUGLIA SOUNDS monitoring survey by the Media&Journalism Institute of the Swiss Italian University (coordinated by Giuseppe Richeri, Daniele Doglio and Marco Meneguzzo) indicates a 24% growth in the number of businesses operating in the music industry, an increase of 68% in the number of working days, a surge of 34% in the money spent by the public and estimates that every euro invested by Puglia Sounds on Medimex brought in 5.6 euro, for an economic impact of 2.24 million euro. Puglia’s music industry has demonstrated positive structural characteristics (number and type of businesses, local organisation, support for the production system), and has proved to be a vehicle for direct economic development (growth dynamics), as well as an indirect means of valorising the potential consumer attractiveness of the region in terms of culture and tourism.
The Puglia Sounds survey by the Media&Journalism Institute of the Swiss Italian University was presented yesterday in Bari during a press conference  in the cabinet room of the President of Regione Puglia.
