Il festival
Il Locomotive Jazz Festival nasce nel 2006 nel piccolo paese salentino di Sogliano Cavour, grazie a un’intuizione del sassofonista e Direttore Artistico Raffaele Casarano: portare il Jazz in un territorio di confine, farlo conoscere, comprendere, ascoltare. Il LJF in 12 anni di vita ha coinvolto territori, realtà associative, musicisti internazionali e un pubblico attento e sensibile che cresce sempre di più. Nato come evento estivo, da tempo è ormai in continua attività; un nucleo di energie, di sperimentazioni musicali e di innovative politiche culturali.
The Festival
The Locomotive Jazz Festival was born in 2006 in the small Salento town of Sogliano Cavour, thanks to an intuition of the saxophonist and Artistic Director Raffaele Casarano: to bring Jazz to a border area, to make it known, understood, listened to. In 12 years of life, the LJF has involved territories, associations, international musicians and an attentive and sensitive audience that is growing more and more. Born as a summer event, it has been in continuous activity for some time; a nucleus of energies, musical experiments and innovative cultural policies.
