The concert presents a selection of Italian vocal and instrumental works from the 17th century focused on the theme of love, combining passion, irony and melancholy. Alongside music by composers such as Benedetto Ferrari, Andrea Falconieri and Giovanni Battista Buonamente, the programme features rare repertoire including serenades by Simone Coya and the traditional song “Tu bella ca lu tieni”. Coya’s music offers a rare dialogue between art music and popular tradition, resulting in a scene of strong theatrical impact.
Les Ateliers de CriBeau

Gabriele Natilla (Artist) – Paris – France

When it comes to classical music, an Italian program cannot overlook the great music of Naples. 2,500 years after its foundation, the concert “Dolcissimo Sospiro”, performed by the Orfeo Futuro ensemble, honors Naples through the notes of two very different composers: Andrea Falconieri and Nicola Porpora. At the dawn of the Baroque, Falconieri still conveys the legacy of the Renaissance in his compositions, as Porpora writes during the mature Baroque, in the tradition of musical theater that made Naples world famous.
